Stop guessing how much testing is enough. With Requs Defect Forecast, you can confidently answer the question, “Are we ready to release?” Our software applies advanced trend analysis to your defect discovery data, providing clear, actionable forecasts. See exactly how much test effort is needed to achieve your quality goals and get a precise estimate of remaining defects—before they impact your users. Empower your team to make data-driven decisions and optimize your testing resources with a proven approach to quality.
Managers can accurately predict release dates, allocate resources effectively, and communicate progress with confidence. By revealing the number of remaining defects and the test effort required to achieve your quality targets, our solution helps you mitigate risk and deliver on time without compromising on reliability.
Requs Defect Forecast transforms raw data into predictive insights for software test engineers and site reliability or RAM engineers. Our platform uses state-of-the-art models to analyze defect discovery trends, allowing you to understand defect removal efficiency and identify the number of latent defects still lurking in your code. With this precise foresight, you can enhance your test strategy, improve site reliability, and ensure your product meets the highest standards of quality. In addition to defect forecasts, the software also forecasts the rate of defects discovered, estimated failure rate, mean time between defect discovery.

Requs Defect Forecast should be compared against the predictions for forecasted defects that you did with the Requs AI Predict software back before the code was finished. Confirm whether the risk level you originally predicted is accurate. Use the initial risk identification and the defect removal efficiency and predicted site reliability metrics to determine if it's OK to make a release and how many defects to plan on fixing if you do.
How does Requs Forecast Defects?
Requs Defect Forecast works in a few simple steps to predict remaining defects, estimate failure rate and mean time between defect discovery:
Import your defect discovery dates from Jira or other defect tracking systems. Filter out the defect reports for a specific program increment.
Several models are run against the data.
- View the forecast for each model. Each model has a different set of assumptions. Typically, you can see which model is trending the best by looking at the trend.
- Continue to populate with data during testing. Restart the graph when there is a new program increment.
Requs Defect Forecast empowers the entire team to make smarter decisions faster.
Software Test & QA
Determine if the software defect discovery rate is increasing. If it is, that’s not good. A release decision is not recommended. If the defect discovery rate is decreasing, then it’s feasible to at least consider a release based on the remaining defects and other site reliability metrics.
Software Management
Know how many defects will pop up in the next program increment if you release the software in the current state.
RAM engineers and site reliability
Determine the failure rate, availability, arrival time of defects, reliability going into production. Determine whether the site reliability and system availability requirements can be met.
